From Rabbi David
In Pirkei Avot (the Ethics of our Fathers) we are taught:
יְהוֹשֻׁעַ בֶּן פְּרַחְיָה אוֹמֵר, עֲשֵׂה לְךָ רַב, וּקְנֵה לְךָ חָבֵר, וֶהֱוֵי דָן אֶת כָּל הָאָדָם לְכַף זְכוּת:
Joshua ben Perahiah used to say: Make for yourself a teacher, and acquire for yourself a friend; judge all people with the scale weighted in their favor.
The teachers at Gan Sinai are not instructors; they are guides, inspirers, leaders, role-models, comforters, cheerleaders, challengers, supporters and...friends.
We are so blessed with the most amazing team of teachers who love and care for your children every single day. Your children are so much more than their students. Our dynamic teachers see them and care for them as their own.
Joshua ben Perahiah must have been thinking about Ms. Elena, Ms. Genesis, Ms. Sandra, Ms. Ayanna, Ms. Helen, Ms. Sybila, Ms. Shirley, Ms. Mary, Ms. Gina, Ms. Nathaly, Ms. Anat, Ms. Sabrina, Ms. Stephanie, Ms. Elena, Ms. Lauren, Ms. Maria, Coach Claudia, Morah Sima, Cantor Norman, Ms. Brianna, and Ms. Angela when he wrote these words.
Your children have the best teachers - and the best friends!
