From Rabbi David

Today, Thursday is Yom Ha'atzmaut - Israel's Independence Day. We celebrated at Gan Sinai by "visiting Israel" thanks to our incredibly creative teachers. We enjoyed pita and hummus and even stopped by a Bedouin tent (with our resident Bedouins - Rabbi Litwak and Cantor Norman).

One of the most astonishing things about the modern state of Israel is just how "independent" she has become in her short 73 years. Imagine the courage, creativity, fortitude, and imagination it took to transform the desert into the thriving and inspiring country that we now call our collective home.

Like Israel, your children are blooming and growing. Every day we see them explore their world, struggle with challenges, ask questions, and find inspiration all around them. Just as Israel has made its own place in the world - each of your children is discovering their independence and learning who they are. This is a journey that is thrilling to watch and a joy to nurture.
